Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey 8 Year Blend

Marfa Spirit Company Texas Straight Wheated Bourbon began eight years before thedistillery itself was ever completed. From the beginning, the intention was simple: if we were going to make bourbon, we would wait until it was truly ready. Built in collaboration with the team at Still Austin Whiskey Co. around a completely custom mashbill, this bourbon leans into an older tradition of wheated whiskey—lower in corn, with unusually high percentages of wheat and malted barley, more reminiscent of the deeply expressive bourbons of the mid-20th century than many modern counterparts.

Aged at 4,700 feet in the high desert of Marfa, Texas, the bourbon develops under conditions unlike anywhere else in the state. While Marfa experiences dramatic day-to-night temperature swings approaching 40 degrees, its elevation and milder climate avoid the relentless sustained heat common to Central Texas and the Gulf Coast. The result is a slower, more graceful maturation that preserves nuance while still developing remarkable depth and concentration over time.

After a minimum of eight years in barrel—the oldest age-stated Texas bourbon released to our knowledge—the whiskey emerges rich, layered, and beautifully structured. Notes of stone fruit, caramelized sugar, toasted grain, and oak unfold into a long evolving finish carried by a confident 110 proof. Equally compelling neat, over ice, or in classic bourbon cocktails, it was built to deliver both elegance and backbone in equal measure.
